    Project Description
The 92,000 S.F. Hudson Valley Transportation Management Center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, while still blending in with the residential character of its surroundings. One of the few facilities of its kind in the U.S., the center integrates infrastructure from each of the seven lower Hudson Valley counties that it serves. The $50 million building was built in a tight site against a large hillside, requiring the construction of two large-scale soil-nail retaining walls to securely buttress the soil from the hill. Another temporary wall shored the soil below to allow for construction of the building’s deep foundation. Approximately 23,000 S.F. of wall was constructed from the top down because of site constrictions. Distant utility lines and site congestion provided additional challenges to the project. Security features are incorporated into the design.
